The Pakistani community paid tributes to the late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on her 7th death anniversary in Riyadh.
Speakers at the event recalled her brave and dedicated services for the development of Pakistan.
Rana Khaled of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) conducted the event. It was attended by Fayyaz Ali Khan, Abdul Karim Khan, Sardar Sher Afzal, Muhammad Riaz Rathore and Zahoorul Hasan.
Khaled described Bhutto as a brave leader. “Braving all odds, she fought two dictators and played a significant role in their ouster and restoration of democracy in the country,” he said.
“Leaders like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto are born in centuries,” said Sardar Naseer.
Imam Bux said Benazir was a symbol of unity of the federation of Pakistan and her assassination was an irreparable loss to Pakistan and its people.
Waqar Wamiq challenged the enemies of Pakistan. He eulogized Benazir by reading out quatrains.
Waseem Sajid said PPP is the only popular party that binds the various units of the federation. “It is wrong to say that PPP is a party of Sindh,” he said. “PPP is the only party that truly represents the people of Pakistan — from Karachi to Khyber,” said Sajid.
Describing Benazir as “brilliant, bold and beautiful,” community leader Faiz Al-Najdi mentioned that her brilliance was reflected in her party policy and the manner in which she carried out her responsibilities both as a party leader and as an international stateswoman.
“She did not fear death and continued to mingle with the common Pakistanis and ultimately laid down her life for the sake of the community,” he said.
