Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah was admitted to King Abdul Aziz National Guard Medical City in Riyadh on Wednesday for tests, the Royal Court said in a statement while praying for his good health.
The king was taken to hospital while he was vacationing at Khoraim Gardens outside the capital, where he arrived last week.
People have been praying for the king, posting messages on social media websites, particularly Twitter and Facebook.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah has won the title of “Wiseman of Arabs” that was awarded to him by the Arab Peoples and Parliaments Organization based in Cairo considering his services to Arabs and strengthening Arab unity.
The title was given following a survey covering over 500,000 Arab citizens. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi was declared Personality of the Year 2014 as a result of the survey, which started on Nov. 15.
