An unidentified person allegedly poured gasoline on a horse and set it aflame at a rest house in Haql, Tabuk recently.
The horse received severe burns and the owner’s tent at the rest house was reduced to ashes.
Horse owner Khaled Al-Shamsan, who was out of the province at the time, said his horse, worth more than SR50,000, has lost sight in one eye as a result of the assault and is being treated in a local veterinary hospital.
He thanked Tabuk’s Equestrian Association for helping move the horse to the city for treatment.
