RIYADH: The King Saud Foundation (KSF) will work toward the eradication of poverty, ignorance and sickness as envisioned by the late King Saud bin Abdulaziz, Prince Mishaal bin Saud has said. The KSF, which was established here on Wednesday, is a non-government organization and will work in accordance with the strategic plans of the Saudi government, Prince Mishaal, president of the foundation, said in a statement.
“The foundation aims to pursue projects on economic, social and cultural developments of the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman,” he said.
Prince Mishaal, who is also a member of the Allegiance Pledge Commission, said that the foundation will undertake projects approved by the board of trustees with regard to the establishment of business ventures for the benefit of civilians.
“The KSF will also organize cultural and social activities, conferences, workshops, seminars and exhibitions. It will also participate in projects with humanitarian and environmental significance.”
Explaining the reason for establishing the foundation, the prince said: “We are the late King Saud’s children, grandchildren and citizens, and we’re following in his footsteps.”
Princess Fahda bint Saud, a founding member of KSF, said the foundation aims at a good leadership for the country such as what we have at present. “We thank the foundation’s shareholders for paying their annual dues to KSF.”
