Anti-KSA propaganda

I read with interest the article “Spreading lies about KSA” (April 4) by Sabria S. Jawhar. The documentary in question is undoubtedly very misleading. It is a clear attempt to malign the Kingdom. I appreciate the writer for writing such a strong rebuttal. Her approach is very laudable, as she did not stop at rhetoric but proved her point with full force in a logical manner.
Saudi Arabia should respond to these media attacks effectively. In today’s world, effective use of media has become very important and Saudi Arabia should do more to win this media war.
The documentary wrongly portrayed Saudi Arabia as a country where people cannot even walk in the streets. That was so unprofessional. Those who want to experience the truth should visit the Kingdom. Like any other country in the world, there are rules and regulations, which everybody should respect and follow. As for Shariah, nobody should expect any other source of law in the land of the two holy mosques. Saudi Arabia is the center of the Muslim world. Attempts to paint the Kingdom with a negative brush will never bear fruit.
Saudi media houses should step up their efforts to boost the image of the Kingdom in the West and to respond to such propaganda. — Tahir Qureshi, Riyadh
