Tobacco ban continues in Diriyah

RIYADH: Prince Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman, Diriyah governor, on Thursday said that the decision to ban the sale of tobacco in the province continues.
“The bad effects of tobacco should serve as a deterrent for us, especially students, to avoid smoking which is not good for the environment and our health as well,” he said.
Prince Ahmed made the statement as he sponsored the conclusion of the three-day program whose aim was to make participants aware of the dangers of tobacco smoking.
He encouraged program participants as well as Diriyah residents to avoid smoking and help in the dissemination of information about the ban on tobacco sales.
The three-day program was organized by the Saudi Center for Studies and Research for Drug Prevention.
The program included several lectures, workshops and dialogue on dealing with adolescents and ways to guide students and make them aware of the dangers of drugs and behavioral deviations.
