RIYADH: Heads of various foreign mission on Friday applauded Vision 2030 as an ambitious plan to diversify the Saudi economy, deliver more in public welfare and lead the Kingdom on a new path of sustainable development.
At the same time these diplomats were studying how to further collaborate with the Kingdom to enhance mutual cooperation.
Commending the vision document as a strategic project for the future of Saudi Arabia, Flavio Marega, ambassador of Brazil, told Arab News: “The Saudi Vision 2030 is a clear and determined path toward a new stage of economic and social development of this great nation.”
Turkish Ambassador Yunus Demirer also expressed support for Vision 2030, the ambitious plan to transform the Saudi economy away from its dependence on oil through economic diversification.
Describing it as a very important and strategic vision document, Demirer said: “It includes the modernization of the Saudi economy and is drafted well according to the needs of the fast-changing world.”
He exuded hope that Vision 2030 will immensely help in diversifying the Saudi economy. “I congratulate the Saudi leadership on this wonderful achievement,” the Turkish envoy said.
Pekka Voutilainen, ambassador of Finland in Riyadh, described Vision 2030 as a move in the right direction as the drafts approved are exceedingly good for the future of Saudi Arabia.
“I think it is something very important … I am personally very excited about. It will immensely help to transform the Saudi economy,” the envoy underscored.
He added that the aims and objectives of this vision document are crystal clear: the welfare of the Saudi people. Describing it as a positive move to diversify the economy, he said it will help create more education and employment opportunities for citizens.
Ananda Prasad Sharma, chargé d’affaires of Nepal, echoed the sentiments, applauding Vision 2030 as a comprehensive plan aimed at ensuring a more prosperous future for Saudi Arabia and its people.
“It is a very comprehensive road map for the future development of the Kingdom,” he said.
“I am very much hopeful that the implementation of Vision 2030 will bring sustainable development, progress and more prosperity to the people of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
Notably, drafted by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the historic Vision 2030 was approved by the Cabinet which recently met under the chairmanship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman here.
