As part of its social responsibility, Almarai has donated 70,000 liters of milk to be distributed among the families of prisoners throughout the Kingdom for the holy month of Ramadan.

The organization was founded in 1976, when Chairman Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer recognized the need to transform traditional dairy farming in the Kingdom to meet the needs of a fast-growing domestic market.
Talal Al-Otaibi, Almarai’s Public Relations Manager told Arab News the donation of milk was handled through Tarahum, a social service organization that takes care of prisoner’s families in the Kingdom.
“Almarai is committed to improve social welfare and contribute to the betterment of society,” Al-Otaibi said, adding the collaboration with Tarahum allows Almarai to reach a large number of people in need.
He added, “Almarai has given charitable and philanthropic activities great attention by adopting various social and humanitarian causes and launching philanthropic initiatives throughout the year to positively impact the greater community and its members.”
The company believes in the importance of contributing to social investment efforts. It is proactively engaged in the community through direct charitable donations and vital sponsorships of events that benefit social causes.
In conjunction with the Arab Bureau of Education at the Gulf Cooperation Council, the company took part in organizing the Scholastic Excellence Award for Public Education students. The award was inducted in Kuwait, where Almarai recognized 42 students from all levels of public education throughout the Gulf region for their academic achievements.
In addition, an Award for Scientific Creativity was launched in partnership with the King Abdulaziz City For Science and Technology (KACST) with the goal to encourage scientific research and ultimately benefit society.
Almarai also supported the Bin Baz Charitable Project to assist young men with limited means in marriage and facilitated the biggest group marriage in the Kingdom.
