RIYADH, 16 November — Bankero’s reliable Aloy Mier, the Scorpions II of Boy Bartolome and the Wizard’s 23 coached by Ernie Gonzales stole thunder to share honors on the 4th week of the Giordano Fashions/OFWBR “Payanigan” Wednesday Regulated Bowling League at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.

Heading the list of last week’s honorees was Aloy Mier who emerged as the week’s best player by clinching the Bowler of the Week award. Mier garnered a four game series scratch of 813. For his feat, Mier will receive Giordano T-shirt and SkyFreight 20 kgs seafreight cargo voucher.

The Scorpions II of Boy Bartolome, likewise burned the lanes to clinch the team of the week award. The Scorpions team keglers snatched 22 big points against their opponent, the Coolebraz. The experienced Scorpions tallied overall total team output of 3609 points through the excellent games of Jolly dela Torre and George Avellana. Dela Torre and Avellana posted separate four game series of 808 and 762. Jun Ego dazzled to score a series of 514 in three games and Joel Alegre contributed a series of 489 in four matches. Neil Gafur and team captain Boy Bartolome submitted a series of 371 and 340 in two games.

The veteran Raul Medina led in the Coolebraz team by posting a four game series of 776. Almer Cabangon rolled a series of 531 in three sets while Rodel Catanghal and Edsel Monteposo scored an identical three game series of 526. Romy Liggayu and Donjie Mapalad toppled a series of 483 and 307.

Powering the Bankeros Atbp team to record an impressive victory over the Calabarzon II (17-14) was through the heroics of Aloy Mier who shot a series of 813. Extending a splendid support to Mier came through the good games of Jun Evangelista (781), and Willy Pamilaran (770). Romy Cruz came-in next with a series of 600 in three games. Usman added a series 404 in two matches.

Fred “Katapat” Lim topscored in the Calabarzon II by knocking-down a four-game series of 784. Jess “ka bayani” Bersamin sizzled to score a series of 740. The debuting Rey Dela and mentor Jimmy Ocampo registered a separate series of 736 and 723 in four games. Jene Canlas scored 498 pinfalls in two outings.

The Wizard’s 23 captained by Ernie Gonzales made history when they blanked the powerhouse team, the SkyFreight Forwarders in all matches (15-0). The dynamic tandem of Bert Ambo and Emil Rances with support coming from fellow members Simon Montero, Gonzales and Boy Alvaran bombarded the Skyfreight’s winning position. Ambo and Rances fired a four game series of 725 and 705 while Montero scored 616 series. Gonzales sealed 360 series in two games and Alvaran collected 352 points in two outings. Wizard’s astounding victory over the Skyfreight team climbed-up the latter to occupy the number spot formerly occupied by the E-Banking team.

Leading scorers in the SkyFreight’s squad was Rolly Amis with 668 series in four games. Reden Tulabut followed by carding a series of 517 in three outings. Larry Mondoy and Jun Malana rolled a series of 490 and 480 in two games and Rizal Dellosa and Atoy Malubay pocketed a series of 370 and 306 in two games.
