JEDDAH, 16 November — Setting their teams in a comfortable position before the traditional yearly recess of the FTBJ bowling activities this December, four teams poised for extreme blows with Internet@Kape halting the streaking SkyFreight Forwarders, Tetra Pak shackling Global Distribution, Sarawat Green Farms emptying Big One Chocolates and Picpa 2002 discounting Team 12 at the end of week 5 of the 27th AFTBL at the Jeddah Bowling Center.
As this conference is a regulated 5-man team event, Internet@Kape had its line up on its endmost at OOAAB to tackle the OOABC of the SkyFreight.
The result was enormous for the Atoy Cruz-led team as Internet@Kape humbled SkyFreight Forwarders by as much as 109 pins (3029-2920) at the final bell. Mario Narvasa with 642 scratch series primarily manned Internet@Kape in wrecking opponents with his (Narvasa) games of 226, 243 & 173. Except for Bert Rodillo who fired little below average at 535, all the supporters of Narvasa marked beyond 600 with Mixi Lechuga searing 635 (174, 213, 238), Eddie Tuico hooking 612 (180, 206, 226) & Goying Salazar saving 612 (204, 235, 163).
Cris Villavelez with 637 (242, 204, 191) played usual defense for SkyFreight but due to faded outings of Emy de Guzman (495) and Hero Garcia (494), that effort seemed not enough for counter assault despite of par assistance from Rally Zamora 597 (203, 202, 192) and Edu Toledo (592).
The triangular fortification of Sid Lapena (639), Rudy Punzalan (623) and Jess Pineda (617) plus the fine insertion of Bert Tuvera (592) and the fair filling up of newcomer Carlos Masinsin (480) summarized the victory of Tetra Pak over Global Distribution to whom mentor Ariel Urquia (483) failed to boost throughout the match. Lapena based and coated his total with 225 & 236 which came out instrumental in gaining the first two sets with Punzalan assisting 208 in Game 1 and Pineda (236), & Tuvera (211) capping most in Game 2 for 946-905 & 1021-873 busting.
