RIYADH, 23 November — Five of the nine-man Da’wah team scored double figures to subdue the recently crowned Transcon Cargo team, 117- 94 in the exhibition match held at the Al Yamamah basketball court.
Transcon’s Elmer Gomez the most valuable player (MVP) in the first season barely produced 6 points while J. Quiambao who scored 27 points ran short of three points against the prolific Saleh of Da’wah who scored 18 points in the three-point range and 12 points in the shaded area. Da’wah, who had the height advantage over Transcon, went strong at the start of the first quarter, stretched their lead to the second quarter and never looked back at the end of the game.
Da’wah’s Shaher and Robert scored 20 points each to back Saleh’s 30-point output. Hamad pumped-in 13 points and Khaled 10 points while Quiambao of Transcon was backed by A. Aquino who scored 18 points, Z. Paule 15 points Lapastora and Miranda 10 points each.
