RIYADH, 23 November — More teams show strong signs of landing in the top three posts at the on-going Masters Cup Team Tennis Championship at Al Yamama Hotel Sports Complex held every Thursday and Friday.
In Thursday games, the OPM Acers led by Pons Oribello outfought the Infiniti team of Piring Roque at 43-26, while the E-Smashers group of Chito Abreau and Alfred Pastolero managed to survive a scare when they were able to stopped at 38-33 the spirited Vigolaters team of Joey Salem & Louie Blanquera. The sponsored parcel delivery service Aramex team of Tony Monter and Winnie Garibay demolished at 46-34 the Minsupala region team of Nasser Nanong and Roger Samain, followed by the Cyber Netters team of Ariel Padilla and Alex Domingo when they showed their worth by scoring 39-29 against the Warrior team of Saleh Zahrani and Vic Siatong. The Hager Co-Quick Silver team of Jeffrey Roces and Bong Bueta scored 33 points with five sets won while the Femas Sarimanok team of Mike Sarip scored 36 points with two sets won. But the Hager Co Quick Silver team in command. The Match Pointers team of Rolly and Romy Calitis remained on the lead at 37-33 against the giant and famous housing developer Crown Asia-Camella Homes Aces of Robert Manese and Ben Elpedes.
During Friday games - expectators and participants braved the cold winds of the season. The Bodega team of Francis "Kiko" Asuncion humbled the Saudi Investment Bank team of Dong Calub at 40-26. On the other hand the WRJ Cargo Services team of Reno Punay and Larry Constantino rallied past to upset 43-31 the Nongga team of Fred Santos and Larry Berroya.
