JEDDAH, 30 November — Over the past two weeks the on-going show jumping competitions held at the Trio Ranch Country Club have produced some very exciting and challenging results.
In an impressive show of skill, determination and excellence, two of the Trio Ranch show jumping team took top honors in the recently-concluded competition organized by the Saudi Equestrian Federation held at the Trio Ranch Country Club.
In day one in the first class 80cm to 1-meter category, the Saudi National Team member Fahad Al Jaid captured first place. In the next two classes, l to 1:10 meters and 1:10 meters, Abdullah Sharbatly clinched both honors with a fine display of timing, speed and overall poise.
The second day’s events saw some major changes in the course when Abdul Rahman Al Ghamdi, the Saudi Equestrian Federation course designer, made the next three classes even more challenging with a variety of fences to test the ability of participating riders.
In the 1:30 class, young and promising Saudi rider and member of theTrio Ranch Country Club, Suliman Al Anbar claimed first place. In keeping up with his fine performances the previous day Abdullah Sharbatly snatched top spot in the 1:20 to 1:25 meter class.
The main event of the day, the 1:10 meter class saw yet another member of the Trio Ranch Country Club team, Ragheb Ibrahim Basha who clinched top honors with an outstanding display of power, grace and control.
The second week’s events featured many of the Kingdom’s top young up-and-coming riders taking part in three separate classes. Once again the Trio Ranch riders were amongst the top winners in each class. In the 40cm to 60cm class no less than 17 riders made a clear round, with the best rider award went to Prince Khalid ibn Mishal.
In the 60cm to 80cm class, Maan Fahmi came through with flying colors to clinch theefirst place. Maan was riding his new pony named Chungy in this class. In second place it was Kinana Bakr on Nirvana, followed by Jimmy Abed riding Shalimar and in fourth place it was Mohammed Jamal on Micky.
The final class of the day was the 80cm to 1 meter event, yet again another young Saudi rider Saud Al Amoudi claimed the trophy on Noura. in second place Dalma Malhas riding Maradona, closely followed by Kinana on Nirvana and Summer Baghdadi riding Shalimar.
