JEDDAH, 7 December — Traco Green raced to an exciting 3 wickets win over Young Athlete with 5 balls to spare in the 5th week of the Kanoo League (Premier Division) organized by JCL. In the other matches IDB recorded their third win by defeating Toshiba convincingly by 6 wickets & Mahmood Saeed who are presently at the top defeated SGB Baroom by 45 runs.

Traco Green scored a thrilling 3 wickets win over Young Athlete with 5 balls to spare. Young Athlete were pegged down to 202 for 9 by some accurate bowling by Traco Green bowlers. Although wickets fell at regular intervals at one end, Hussain stood solid like a rock at the other end to record his second century of the league.

He batted with fluency and patience waiting for the loose ball to come his way. He struck 7 fours and 3 sixes in his 115 and remained unbeaten till the end to ensure that Young Athlete reach a respectable score of 202 for 9. Faisal (3 for 40) and Irfan (3 for 44) did most of the damage. In reply Traco Green started of well as Baber lead the onslaught with 36 but thereafter they lost quick wickets and were reduced to 81 for 4. However the lower order batted with determination - Irfan (62), Asad (27) and Faisal (29) - ensured that their side would reach the target of 203 for 7 in 34.1 overs.

IDB bowlers led the attack from the word go as they reduced Toshiba to 75 for 7 as Shoaib (4 for 36), Abdullah (3 for 26) bowled with fire an speed to make early in roads in the Toshiba batting. Thereafter Shabbir held one end up as he batted with grit and determination to wither the onslaught. He struck 8 fours in his unblemished 72 runs. Mahmood Saeed recorded their 4th straight win to top the table with a 45 run win over SGB Baroom. Mahmood Saeed scored an impressive 271 for 5 wickets with all their top order batsmen chipping in with useful score. Kashif (53), Irfan (36), Asgar (44), Rashid (33), Maqbool (37) and Farooq (25) led the assault. Manjeet took 2 for 47. In reply SGB Baroom were restricted to 226 for 8 in 31.4 overs when bad light stopped play. Shoaib led his side’s attempt to chase the target with a polished 68 and along with Manjeet (33) began well with 105 runs for the 1st wicket. Thereafter wickets fell at regular intervals although Salim chipped in with (32), SGB Baroom were restricted to 226 for 8 in 31.4 overs.
