ALKHOBAR, 7 December — In the EPCA Alkhamisain Ramadan Cup cricket tournament Saudi Pan Gulf outplayed YATA and won the match by 7 wickets. YATA batted first and scored 177 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Nadeem scored a fine half century which was studded with five hits to the fence and two mighty sixes. Besides him Mazhar also scored valuable 37 runs. Saeed 26 runs and Naeem 23 runs were other main contributer. Mahmood bowled well and took two wickets for 19 runs.
In reply, Saudi Pan Gulf reached the required target in the 19th over. Thanks to Amjad Butt who batted superbly scored majestic unbeaten 84 runs and took his team to a grand victory. Sadar also batted well and scored unbeaten 29 ans Syed Mahmood contributed useful 24 runs. Abid bowled well for YATA and took 2 wickets.
In another match, KANOO beat Saudi Ready Mix my 122 runs. KANOO batted first and pile up 221 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Munawwar and Eijaz Saeed laid the solid foundation and put on 100 runs partnership for the first wicket. Munawwar got out first after scoring fine half century 56 runs in which he hit seven boundaries. After his departure Iqbal Bali joined Eijaz and the pair added another 100 runs partnership for the second wicket Bali particularly was in tremendous form. He scored breezy 75 runs in just 36 balls which included fourteen excellent boundaries. Eijaz played the anchor role he remain unbeaten on 67 runs in which he hit 3 towering sixes and five superb boundaries.
In reply, Saudi Ready Mix were all out for 94 runs. Asif 37 runs was the top scorer and Zia contributed 21 runs. Farhat Mahmood bowled very well and claimed 3 wickets for 23 runs.
In another match, Al-Ghamdi beat Youngsters by 8 wickets. Youngsters batted first and scored 154 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Shahnawaz played a gallant knock, batted all the bowlers at his will, and scored a magnificent 84 runs. Rehan, Sajjad and Aftab bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
Al-Ghamdi reached the target easily in the 17th over. Thanks to Tariq and Iqbal who put on 74 runs partnership for the first wicket. Tariq 60 was caught by Qayyum off the bowling of Adnan. Iqbal Saeed departed soon after scoring a valuable 45 runs and Khawar Shahzad scored fine unbeaten 37 runs and carried his team to an easy victory.
