RIYADH, 4 January — Ace Aloy Mier and sweet shooting Zeny Siapco rules the Masters Event in their own division after the conclusion of the 4-day FOBR Winter Games held at Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center. It was a 6-game grueling series that proves who was the real Champion under a very unfavorable lane conditions. Mier and Siapco, who came from behind after the all events summary, had retracted and proven their skills of the game during the Masters event.
Romy Cruz, a veteran bowler, came in second while easy bowler Clem Guelas took the third position in the Men’s Division. In the Ladies Division, untiring Pat Nave took the second position, and lanky Beth Danganan, who played very impressive games in most of the events, came in third. Danganan also posted the highest individual score for all the events in the ladies division (228) followed by Rita Sison (226).
Masters champions received a cash prize of SR500 plus trophy each and dinner certificates for two courtesy of Lai-Lai Chinese Restaurant (ladies) and Halion Restaurant (mens).
Accumulating a total of 34 points, The Challengers of Bernie Sarmiento got the most coveted award, which is the Perpetual Trophy, donated by Mr. & Mrs. Ibs Nave. The players are composed of Arcie Consolacion, Ricky Simbulan, Ed Esmana, Aurel Farinas, Lani dela Cruz and Susan Sarmiento.
