DUBAI, 8 January — Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, which operates eight Middle and Near East properties with two more due on line soon in Egypt, will add a new hotel in Denmark to its growing international property portfolio, which includes 110 hotels in 38 countries. The 88-room, four-star hotel in Silkeborg, Denmark’s leisure capital, will open for business next July and will be the hotel chain’s 11th property in the Scandinavian country. It lies just 40 km west of Aarhus in the country’s largest lake district on the banks of the Gudena River, 45 minutes drive from Billund International Airport. "Denmark’s proximity to Germany and Sweden, two of Europe’s largest outbound leisure markets, coupled with excellent international airline connections will make our new Silkeborg hotel a major year-long attraction for high-end holiday makers," said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO, Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts. Surrounded by large forests and beautiful lakes, the hotel will offer visitors unique landscapes. Silkeborg features a variety of leisure activities, such as canoeing, sailing, fishing, cycling and hiking. In addition, Silkeborg’s long history is reflected through its numerous museums and galleries of modern and historical art. Every summer, the town hosts famous riverboat jazz and country music festivals.
