RIYADH, 8 February — Roger Fortuno who works at Intergraph together with the Pangasinan Strikers team keglers shared stellar by clinching the Giordano Bowler of the Week award and the Team of the Week award, respectively in the 12th week of the Giordano Fashions/OFWBR "Payanigan" Wednesday Regulated Bowling League. The games is being held every Wednesday evening at the bowling alleys of the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.

Fortuno, playing with the Scorpions II team managed by Boy Bartolome and taking advantage of his 28 handicaps per game, clinched the Bowler of the Week award by carding a series of 797.

The Pangasinan Strikers captured the Team of the Week award by snatching 20 points against the SkyFreight Forwarders team who sealed 10 points. Pat "Fatima buen" Raz now back to his old form led in the Pangasinan by posting a four game series of 789, lost his chance of winning the back-to-back bowler of the week award by merely nine points from Fortuno. Pep "aguy" Maghinay dazzled to score a series of 772 while Joey Maningas and compatriot Phol Grepo toppled a separate series of 724 and 721. Ace Vher Cayago contributed 619 series in three games.

SkyFreight’s Atoy Malubay topscored by carding a four game series of 732. Rolly Amis, Larry Mondoy, Jun Malana and Jimmy Medina submitted a three game series of 567, 565, 537 and 520. Lito Junio scored 347 in two games.

The Split Converters team of Rolly Manalang continued their fiery performances to record another impressive victory against the heavy favorite PNB Bankeros Atbp team of Jun Pineda. The Split Converters took 18 points through the combined efforts of Dante Prado (790), Manalang (729) and Romy Matic (712). Joe Concepcion, Marvin Arocena and Mon Nilo provided splendid support by adding a separate series of 538, 388, and 323.

Sparkling in the PNB Bankeros was Willy Pamilaran who shot a four game series of 790. The out-of-form Jun Evangelista and Dong Calub scored a series of 525 and 503 in three games. Romy Cruz had 498 series in three games and Bert Lopez together with Rodel Yap and James Frizzle pocketed a separate two-game series of 363, 344 and 330.

The Scorpions II outsmarted the Wizard’s 23 and lifting Scorpion’s astounding win over the Wizards came through the heroics of the bowler of the week holder, Roger Fortuno (797). Coming-in next to Fortuno who displayed sterling performances were fellow Joel Alegre (751), Jun Martin (749), Jun Ego (705) and Boy Bartolome (678). The Scorpions collected 17 points against 9 points registered by the Wizard’s 23 of Ernie Gonzales. Promising Emil Rances was on top in the Wizard’s 23 with a four game series of 715, followed by Gonzales (690), Mar Samson (606) and Remy Pantaleon (545). Roel Toledo, Johnny de Asis and Nap Torres compiled a separate two game series of 337, 318 and 312.
