JEDDAH, 15 February — Finally, after a long battle, the Dove and the Big One Chocolates team keglers cornered limelight by posting a separate convincing victories in the 12th week of the onging All Filipino Tenpin Bowling League organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) at the Jeddah Bowling Center.
The highly-spirited Dove keglers through the awesome performances of Jimmy “Idol” Rosillo and Edward Manuzo outplayed Abudawood Trading team keglers by snatching 4 points against 1 point sealed by Abudawood.
Aside from Rosillo and Manuzo who sparkled in the Dove team were Edwin Ronquillo, Nap Patayan and the centennial Danny de Guzman. Rosillo, who missed his perfect 300, was short of 20 pinfall and finished a remarkable three game series scratch of 671 on lines of 179, 212 and a towering 280 in the third game while fellow Ronquillo, Patayan and De Guzman contributed a separate three-game series of 580, 577 and 542. The Dove exploded a towering overall total team output of 3093 pinfalls.
For Abudawood Trading team, Louie “lover boy” Bautista posted a brilliant three-game series of 641 in styles. Bautista rolled 253 in the first outing followed by 197 and 191 in the remaining two games. Lindo Villanueva added a series of 603 in three matches and Eddie “turbo” Alisbo, Felix and Emil Payongayong posted a series of 571, 526 and 500 in three sets.
The Big One Chocolates team shared bowling spotlight with the Dove team when they demolished the powerhouse SkyFreight Forwarders (4-1). The unstoppable Fred Monzon of the Big One Chocolates team led by carding a convincing three game series scratch of 675. Monzon rolled 217, 235 and 223. Liny Suriaga, Rey Permilda, Jess Escondo and Mel Yabut sizzled to score a series of 599, 577, 473 and 462. An overall total team output of 2906 were collected by the Big One Chocolates team keglers.
FTBJ president and 300 perfect holder Rally Zamora poured 617 series in three games to be on top in the SkyFreight Forwarders. The multi-talented and also a 300 perfect holder, Cris Villavelez came-in next to Zamora with a best output of 578 pinfalls. Hero Garcia, Edu Toledo and Rod Morales garnered a series of 571, 521 and 503. The Lux Power Bowlers, this time bounced back to post a 4-1 victory against the Global Distribution team. The heroics of Jun Lasaga powered the Lux Power Bowlers astounding win over the Global by pumping-in a remarkable three game series scratch of 680 and scored 199, in the first game, followed by a towering 224 and 257 in the second and final game. Dazzling too in the Lux Power squad was Danny Bautista with 619 pinfalls, followed by Paul Antiporda (567), Toto “katapat” Lim (514) and Andy Erena (448).
Jun “game ka na ba” Pilipina topscored in the Global Distribution by downing a three game series scratch of 593. Roger Abantas and the graceful Ariel Urquia had an identical three-game series of 572 series to follow Pilipina. Dante Calapatia and Luz Ver pocketed a the same three game game series of 527.
The Tetra Pak upset the league leader, the Malaysia Airlines (4-1). The dynamic duo of Edwin Carrao and Rudy Punzalan proved too strong to humble the Malaysia Airlines quintet by rolling a separate three-game series scratch of 640 and 614, respectively. Benjie flew high to score a series of 586 and Bert Tuvera together with Bonnie Garcia knocked down a series of 562 and 511. OFW worldwide summer balikbayan defending champion, Hashim Guinomla and former titlist, Jun Cabral are at the forefront in the Malaysia Airlines team with a separate three game series scratch of 618 and 604. Randy Mata hammered 585 series while Rene Galvan and Luis T. Luna snatched a separate three game series of 518 and 510. On Lanes 17 and 18, the Green Farm recorded 3-1 win over the Internet @ Kape and leading scorers in the Green Farm are Nestor Quineves (614) and Val Magsino (549).
The prolific Mar Narvasa and Goying Salazar shot a separate series of 650 and 619 to lead in the Internet@Kape. Edduie Tuico, Roger Daquioag, a 300 perfect holder and Adore Torres submitted a series of 543, 507 and 504 in three games.
The Amigos 2 got 5 points over the default team, the Batterfey Vhoize and on top was Joey Salvador and Wilson Triguero. Salvador, a 300 record holder rolled 161, 173 and 223 while Triquero 154, 201 and 244.
