RIYADH, 15 February — Little-known Arman Caraig, a novice bowler impressed the spectators when he powered the Vision 2 bowling team to capture separate top honors on the 2nd week of the OFWBR “Paistaran” Monday Regulated Bowling at the crowded Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotle Bowling Center.
Caraig, classified as Class D bowlers and taking advantage of his 30 handicaps per game, tallied a four game series of 876 to romp-away the bowler of the week award. Caraig brilliant display of games powered the Vision 2 team captained by Alex Bandoy to snatch the team of the week award by collecting 24 big points through the courtesy of the newcomer team, the Unicap team mentored by Unicap chairman, Art Basilio Capulong who went home scoreless. Extending splendid support to Caraig came through the fine games of fellow Mario Samson who contributed a convincing 833 pinfalls.
Also sharing stellar with Caraig and Samson were Alex Bandoy, Ferdie Ramos and Ruben Diaz who chipped-in a separate series of 794, 713 and 626.
Submitting the best output for the Unicap team came through the triumvirate of Benjie Macatuno, Gayner Elias and Art Capulong who toppled a series of 680, 671 and 658 in four games. Rami Espiritu carded a series of 498 in three games and Mario Baylon downed a series of 312 in two games.
Also cornering bowling spotlight in last week’s action were the keglers of the King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) headed by Ted Gutierrez and Arman Dantes who toppled a series of 445 and 426. Billy Balidiong posted a series of 422 while Mags Bongcarawan toppled 397 points.
Fellow members Danny Castro, Louie Fantone and Francis Gloria contributed a series of 388, 367 and 335. The KAMC snatched 22 points to beat the ABB Mixed Stars who collected nine points.
Fastring Mel Solas exploded a four game series of 758 to topscore in the ABB All Stars and coming-in next to him was Luie Abundo who scored a series of 544. Ramon Perez and Ariel Feliciano scored a series of 533 and 532 and Mon Teodoro and Edwin Bathan knocked-out a two game series of 373 and 351.
The Bukabin Eagles flew high to dismantle the powerhouse Maros Bowlers (21-6) and lifting the Bukabin’s outstanding performances to post a convincing win over the Maros came through the devastating forms of Roland Fortento who shot a remarkable four game series of 808.
The tandem of Ariel San Miguel and Von Buyson sparkled too to post a separate four game series of 740 and 723. Rommel Santos and Arman Ortiz supported the Bukabin Eagles team by contributing a separate series of 357 and 331.
Yuli Braganza, Ed Sy and Joey Maningas of the Maros Bowlers team keglers submitted a separate four game series of 729, 720 and 717 to be on top. Pat Raz followed with 671 pinfalls while Jojo Demetrio downed 518 series in three games.
