JEDDAH, 15 February — The KKB quartet of Randy Mata, Ver Luz, Cyril Balasico and Majid Aslani sent shock waves when they dazzled anew on the center lane of Jeddah Bowling Center, flashed their sterling performances and snatched the 27th Team of the Week award with the score of 85 points. It’s a back-to-back feat by those four bowlers who won the distinction on the 26th at 84 points.

The prize, however, will be awarded to Al-Ahadal Establishment in accordance with the existing rules. Al-Ahadal scored 78.5 points.

Nestor Quiteves of SkyFreight Forwarders brought home the Bowler of the Week award when he packed series of strikes with a 3-game series of 709. He scored 214, 209 and 256, which were fortified by his handicap of 10 pins per game. Although KKB’s Ver Luz scored 278 on the final set, his series of 707 was three pins shy (189 + 213 + 27 handicap) to overcome the total of the winner.

Pitted against the defending champions SkyFreight Forwarders, KKB collected 85 points when on the first game the ‘invincible four’ of Mata (245), Aslani (245) Balasico (209) and Luz (189) drilled 927 (22 points) including the 39-pin handicap. They swiped another 22 on the final set (961 pins) and was awarded with 22 bonus points when their series of 2732 topped the list on the table after all teams were tapered down. They shot 844 on the penultimate game worth 19 points.

SkyFreight registered a total of 57 points after sweeping 15 points (844) at the start, 8 points (784) on the second set and 19 points (864) on the final game.

Their series of 2472 was worth 15 bonus points. The fair results of their game put them back to the second position with a running total of 1,533. Erstwhile second runner Internet At Kape registered 44 points and brought their total to 1,524.5.

Al-Ahadal Establishment posted 78.5 points and improved their ranking to the 10th with a running score of 1,288 points. The big tally this week was made possible through the outstanding performances of Ramis Ayoub, Tariq Al Twairib, Rey Beltran and Talal Al Twairib. The four incredible players drilled a total series of 2621 to equally share the 41 bonus points with Al Alamiah Insektos (at 20.5 points each).

Playing against D’Amigos, Al-Ahadal toppled down 879 pins including the handicap of 43 and submitted 20 points when the Al Twairib brothers Talal (247) and Tariq (214) fired good shots. They earned 22 points on the second game when the pair of Tariq Al Tawairib (247) and Rey Beltran (237) bombarded the lanes and brought the team’s output to 906, and 16 points on the last set (836 pins).

Although Nonie Yap met walls of splits on the final game (163) after posting impressive games on the first two sets, Al Alamiah Insektos of BBG chair Arnold C. Alday submitted 74.5 points on the table to retain the top slot with a running total of 1,604 points.

The ‘Insektos’ hit 21 points when Sid Lapena (246), Hashim Guinomla (235), Nonie Yap (227) and Alday (207) blasted lanes 9 and 10 with 915 pins. On the succeeding set, the dynamite quartet blew away 902 pins (21 points) when Yap fired 240, Lapena shot 225, Guinomla hit 217, and Alday sniped 220.

Danny Bautista, Ed Labuac, Bonnie Garcia and Ding Abaygar of The Falcon team flew away with 72 points when the four high swinging bowlers nestled 19 points (848) at the beginning, laid 17 points (825 pins) on the second game and preyed 20 points (910) on the final swift.

Class ‘O’ bowler Ahmed Sindi flashed his consistency on lanes 7 and 8 (215, 215, 243) to led Thunderball in producing 71 points. The triumvirate of Jaffer Al Qatheri (640), Hassan Al Masri (636) and Wadia Mohammad (600) assisted Sindi in producing the big points.

Ver Luz of KKB passed his third card to the BBG Elite Club with a score of 278. Nestor Quiteves of Sky Freight Forwarders is the new entrant to the Club with a score of 256.

Bien Hermosura of N-Ball is the only winner of the 6-7-10 split conversion.

The Brotherhood Bowling Group under the chairmanship of the indefatigable Arnold C, Alday organizes the BBG Tuesday Night League at the Jeddah Bowling Center.
