JEDDAH, 15 February — Arafa House lifted the overall championship trophy at the 3rd annual athletic meet of Al-Wurood International School recently. Arafa House got 142 points, followed by Badr House 135, Safa House 120 and Marwa House 106 points.
Following students became individual champions in various groups: Kiddies boys - Mohsin Dalliyalil (Badr House — 15 points), kiddies girls — Jisna K. (Arafa House 14 points), sub-junior boys —Abdullah (Marwa House 19 points), sub-junior girls - Hyfa Mohamed Ali (Safa House 16 points), junior boys - Mohamed Bilal (Safa House 11 points), junior girls - Nishida (Badr House 13 points), senior boys — Arfan Hashim (Safa House 11 points) and senior girls - Sherin (Arafa House 18 points).
Indian Consul K.K.K. Dhillon and Mrs. Dhillon were the chief guests at the closing ceremony. School Director V.P. Mohamed Ali presided a march past at the opening ceremony. M.M. Basheer and T.P. Shuhaib felicitated the meet. Principal Madhuri Noah gave the welcome address and Rangraj gave a vote of thanks. Winners received prizes from Dr. Abdullah Moopan, Shuhaib, Abdul Salam, C.P. Saleem, Mohamed Najeeb, Faisal Ibrahim and Sakur. Mohammed Riyaz, physical education teacher, conducted the closing ceremony.
