ALKHOBAR, 5 April — The first encounter between the EPCA Executive Committee team and the Jeddah Cricket League Executive Committee team witnessed some veteran cricketers in action. EPCA ExCom XI beat JCL ExCom XI by 24 runs. Batting first, EPCA ExCom XI scored 186 runs in their allotted 20 overs thanks to Tahir Karamat who scored a fine half century 55 runs in which he hit 5 boundaries and one beautiful six.

Captain Syed Aftab Ahmed also batted well and scored 38 runs which included 5 hits to the fence and one mighty six. Nasir Mahmood scored useful 21 runs and Safdar scored unbeaten 28 runs. Shahid Amin struck in the first over and got the wicket of Sikandar Farooqui and the other wicket taker was Abdullah.

In reply, JCL ExCom could manage 162 runs in their allotted 20 overs and in the process they lost 7 wickets. Abdullah batted very well and showed his class. He scored 66 runs in which he hit 6 superb boundaries. JCL another opener Hamid also batted well and scored 27 runs in which he hit 4 beautiful boundaries. Zafar Makki and Afsar Fahim also batted well and scored 14 runs. each. For EPCA ExCom Mohsin Hashim, Aftab Ahmed and Nasir Mahmood bowled well and claimed two wickets each.
