RIYADH , 12 April — Travel Division and Accounts entered the finals of the Kanoo/Norwich Union Insurance inter-division softball cricket tournament being played at Kanoo grounds. The tournament is sponsored by Norwich Union Insurance and co-sponsored by Air India, KLM and Gulf Air.
In the last league match played at Kanoo grounds Accounts beat Travel Division by 6 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Travel Division scored 72 runs in stipulated 16 over. Prolific scorer Syed Zakiuddin top scored for Travel Division with 22 runs. Haider, Rajesh and Kiritharan bagged one wicket each. Chasing a non too impressive score, Accounts easily romped home in 13.2 over losing 4 wickets.
Javid Duste was the main architect of Accounts’ victory with an unbeaten 38 which contains three fours and two sixes. For Travel Division Furqan and Vikram took one wicket each. The finals (25 overs) will be played today at Kanoo grounds. James Milne Area Manager Central Province — Kanoo and Richard Morrison Area Manager Central Province Norwich Union Insurance will be the chief guests. Co-sponsor Air India, KLM and Gulf Air manager’s will also grace the occasion.
