JEDDAH, 19 April — The powerhouse Dove and the Green Farm bowling teams inspired through the prowess of their players recorded impressive victories over their rivals in the 19th week of the All Filipino Friday Tenpin Bowling League organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) at the Jeddah Bowling Centre.
Nap Patayan was unstoppable as he powered the Dove team to a 4-1 victory against the Tetra Pak. Patayan exploded a remarkable three-game series scratch of 662 and had on lines of 183, 244 and 235. The ever-fading Jimmy Rosillo, Edward Manuzo, Amado Lanario and Edwin Ronquillo burned the lanes to post a separate three-game series scratch of 599, 557, 547 and 539. Rosillo rolled 210 and 220 and in the first and last game while Ronquillo downed 209 in the penultimate match. The Dove collected overall total team output of 3,039 pinfalls.
Despite Bonnie Garcia’s brilliant performance, the Tetra Pak squad could manage to win in the first game only. Garcia fired a towering four-game series scratch of 685 and rolled 240, 232 and 213. Rudy Punzalan carded a series of 544 to came-in next to Garcia while Ding Abaygar and Rodell Ricafort had an identical three-game series scratch of 536. Jess Pineda toppled a series of 522 in three games. An overall total team output of 2924 points were tallied by the Tetra Pak team keglers.
Also cornering bowling limelight were the keglers of the Green Farm team who dismantled the league leaders, the Malaysia Airlines (4-1). Boosting the morale of the Green Farm team keglers came through the splendid support extended to them by the Green Farm officials consisting of Sayed Ariz and Fouad Ahmed Quaid. Submitting the best output in the Green Farm squad were the trios of Fred Mangondato, Mao Orolfo and Igna Salgado who posted a separate three-game series scratch of 634, 618 and 610. Odjie Sagcal and Val Magsino contributed a series of 570 and 505 in three matches. The Green Farm team submitted overall total team output of 2,998 points.
For the Malaysia Airlines, at helm was Nonie Yap who carded a significant three game series scratch of 713. Yap started his game by scoring 203 in the first match, followed by 220 in the second and in the final game, Yap maintained his composure and good shot enroute to a perfect score of 300 but managed to score 290 only in the last game. Obie Ycasas and Randy Mata added a series of 576 and 555 in three outings while Chas Balisalisa and Danny Cofreros had 500 and 494 series in three sets. The Malaysia Airlines garnered overall total team output of 2,919.
The Global Distribution continued their winning streak by beating the Big One Chocolate (4-1) and leading scorers in the Global Distribution was Ver Luz (624), followed by Roger Abantas (620), Jun Pilipina (600), Ariel Urquia (574) and Rey Abaygar (523).
Leo Pangilinan topscored in the Big One Chocolate team by posting a series of 619. Liny Suriaga and Fred Monzon poured a series of 587 and 564 while Jerriel Cacao and Rey Pormilda had a series of 549 and 542.
Goying Salazar and Atoy Cruz led lifted the Internet @ Kape to demolish the Abudawood Trading (4-1). Salazar and Cruz scored a separate three-game series of 657 and 637. Roger Daquioag hammered 594 series while Mixi Lechuga and Mar Narvasa chipped in a series of 547 and 536.
Eddie Alisbo was at the forefront in the Abudawood Trading by submitting a three-game series of 631. Louie “lover boy” Bautista pocketed 596 points in three outings while Emil Panyongayong, Sebs Tristeza and Lindo Villanueva scored a separate series of 576, 530 and 509.
The SkyFreight Forwarders snatched 5 points over the undermanned Amigos 2 team and topscoring in the SkyFreight was the incumbent FTBJ president, Rally Zamora (697), followed by Rene Santiago (610), Edu Toledo (558), Hero Garcia (538) and Don Emy de Guzman (458).
Danny Manriza was on top in the Amigos 2 with 570 series while Ed Karganilla and Arnold B. added a series of 490 and 487. The Amigos 2, playing with two blind players tallied overall total team output of 2492.
The Lux Power Bowlers got 5 points over the default team. Cyril Balasico led with 618 series, followed by Lavern Laderas (556), Allan Sanoza (544), Andy Erena (530) and Fred Agahan (445).
