RIYADH, 26 April — The semifinal round of the Power Horse Dart Challenge continued with more exciting actions at the Cues Recreation Center in Batha last Friday. This prestigious event is organized by the Expat Darters of Saudi Arabia, a group of dart aficionados based in the capital city. This dartfest is being sponsored by Power Horse Energy Drink, the No. 1 energy drink in the Kingdom through the guidance and support of Ahmed Al-Haroon, the country manager and hosted by Cues Recreation Center headed by Khaled Al Subaei.
Ace Darters of Manny Barroga proved their prowess by defeating their opponents and walked away with two victories keeping them at No. 1 seat with a 16-1 win-loss record in Division A. They snatched the first victory from the Conquerors in the preliminary match with a 9-8 ending followed by another win from the veteran Spice Boys marking the same score at 9-8 in the second session. Ace maintained their position on top with 199 points, just 6 points ahead of Saudi Ericsson having 193 points in the second slot.
In Division B, First Flight, a selection of Class B darters headed by Ray Tirad showed a spectacular performance by taking home a twin-fold victory. The first win was achieved at the expense of Wild Bulls, 11-6 while the second was grabbed from Mitsubishi with the same output of 11-6. Top gunners of this group are Peter Lachica, Ramon Flores, Claro Bustamante and Ed de Leon. First Flight enjoys a solo lead in Division B with a 135 total points and 9-7 win-loss card followed by strong contender Destroyer with 8-8 record, 139 points. Ton80 producers of the day were Ely Martos of Saudi Ericsson, Danny Mendieta and Larry Ramos of Destroyer, Jun Pereira of STR and Ener Tuazon of Mitsubishi. Tonnette Villejo of Wakaray recorded a satisfactory 122 out shot from a doubles match against Spice Boys while Victor Ebonite of Phoenix finished 102 from a singles match in the second session. Spectators are welcome to witness the action at Cues Recreation Center where admission is free every Friday starting 1:30 p.m.
