JEDDAH, 26 April — Sames Pest Control defeated Luna Alesayi 90-84 in the Sames-JBL basketball tournament. Sames Pest Control bannered by two Most Valuable Players in JBL 2001 tourney (Larry Sunga and Nonoy Guarra) showed fine form during the game. Luna Alesayi with two high leaping players and an ace shooter (Fabian) in their lineup managed to contain the offensive plays of the Sames Pest Control. Sames Pest Control went to Sunga and Guarra in their final assault for their second straight win. Sunga was top scored with 36 points for Sames Pest Control while Manlapaz scored 19 points for Luna Alesayi.

In the next game, Ajwa RMTI beat Daniel/Erik All Star 52-46. Ajwa RMTI showed firepower and control the tempo of the game. Daniel/Erik All Star tried to keep the scores at bay but lost their steam in the final two minutes. Mendoza and Salinas scored 15 points apiece for Ajwa RMTI while Canete top scored with 14 points for Daniel/Erik All Star.

In Thursday’s matches, Arabian Homes showed their presence and beat NetJets 85-54. Arabian Homes showed a well-planned offensive plays and a lot of determination from the start of the game. NetJets missed the services of their main man Delos Reyes in the scoring department. Lalap and Llandillar scores 21 and 20 points respectively for Arabian Homes while team captain Alayon filled up the vacant shoes and scored 21 points for Netjets.

In the other game, Papa John Pizza displayed maturity against Mouawad Jewellers 66-53. Both teams played well during the game. Papa John Pizza in their first tournament applied running game in the last 4 minutes of the game, Mouawad Jewellers tried to stay in the contention but a lack of stamina in the end game gave Papa John Pizza their first win. Argota top scored with 27 points for Papa John Pizza while Padua scored 15 points for Mouawad Jewellers.
