JEDDAH, 26 April — PICPA-PRO continued to display their incredible winning form at the Tuesday Night League, now on its 36th week organized by the Brotherhood Bowling Group here at the 24-lane Jeddah Bowling Center.
Last week, the quartet of Danny Cofreros, Rodell Ricafort, Aga Mitmug and Paul Antiporda unleashed their incredible performances, scored 84 points and bagged the team of the week award.
The same quartet of PICPA duplicated this week their 84-point feat for the second team award in straight weeks. Pitted against MBC, Antiporda, Cofreros, Mitmug and Ricafort drilled a series of 2,561 and received 22 points for posting the highest total after all scores were tapered down.
PICPA-PRO swept lanes 13 and 14 with their superior spins and earned an 18-point credit for scoring 830 pins including handicap, 21 points on the second game with a score of (872) and 22 big points on the final match after posting a total of 859.
The four MBC players never surrendered after they lost at the hands of the “accountants”. On the second game, Jess Pineda led his team with a splendid 257 and Angel Decena added 215 to put MBC on top of the game (881) for the big 22 points even though PICPA’s Ricafort unloaded 230 and Antiporda submitted 208.The prize this week, however, will be given to N-Ball in accordance with the existing rules. Although MBC had recorded 79.5 points and SkyFreight Forwarders unloaded 76, both teams were all previous winners and are no longer allowed to receive.
Meanwhile, Ramis Ayoub of Al-Ahadal Establishment claimed the bowler of the week award with a series of 738 including handicap. Ayoub rolled games of 245, 236 and 173 as he carried the fight of Al-Ahadal to earn 67 points against Otra Cosa. Ayoub has 28 pins handicap per game.
In other pairs of lanes, it took the heroics of Fred Monzon to lead SkyFreight Forwarders in their aggressive hunt for more points when the opposing Bakin & Co. did not show up. The brilliant display of Monzon’s powerful pendulum swing hits 257, 237 and 214 but was six pins short for the week’s plum in the individual category. SkyFreight big boss Emy de Guzman was also in top form assisting veteran Cris Villavelez, perfect 300-record holder Rene Santiago and their new found star Monzon. He unloaded crates of strikes that enabled SkyFreight Forwarders to submit 76 points.
Although handicap-rich N-Ball squad lost by 22 pins on the hands of Sarawat Aces on the penultimate match, they didn’t go home empty-handed at a score of 72 points. Lavern Laderas, Leo Pangilinan, Nap de Guzman and Jerriel Cacao proved to the “aces” that they could overpower giants like them. N-Ball received the prize for the team of the week award in accordance with the existing rules.
KKB joined the winning column during the week by posting 64 points against the strong opposition of Thunderballs (31). Majid Aslani flashed his best games for KKB, shot 258, 212 and 185.
Internet@Kape was also at the winning side when they bested the Guess? squad at the final score of 61-42.5 points. Scoring high at Internet were Ador Torres (226) on game one, Goying Salazar (235) on the second set and Alex Guinto (225) on the final match.
Versatile Lindo Villanueva of Abudawood Trading was remarkable in his performances while he and his peers painstakingly continued to collect precious points. He bombarded the lanes and produced an enormous 709 pins including handicap that propelled Abudawood to snatch 61.5 points. Hero Garcia, Emil Payongayong and Fadi assisted Villanueva during their quest against KKB. Randy Mata, Ver Luz, Cril Balasico and Rey Cariaso of KKB tried to put up a strong offensive game against the powerful Abudawood Trading but the quartet could only manage to post 50.5 points. Majid Aslani submitted his 5th card to the BBG Elite Club by scored 258. Jess Pineda (257) and Fred Monzon (257) sent their third entry. Ding Abaygar was the lone winner of a special prize for converting a 4-7-10 split. The major sponsor of the league is the National Commercial Bank thru Corporate Public Relations Director Farouk Eid and Public Relations Officer Hussein Ahmed Ali. Other sponsors are Kaki Hotel thru Resident Manager Raymond Doumet and Abdul Ghafoor Amin thru Marketing Manager Hassan Khayat.
