ALKHOBAR, 26 April — In the EPCA Al-Dossary Hardware 20 overs cricket tournament, Al Hoda shocked Rainbow and beat them by 3 wickets. Batting first, Rainbow scored 169 runs. Raza and Aakram scored fine half centuries. Faisal bowled well and took 3 wickets for 32 runs and Anwar and Siddiqi claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Al Hoda reached the target in the 19th over. Faisal and Suresh laid the winning foundation. Suresh got out after scoring 36 valuable runs. Gopinath and Waqar scored 21 runs. Faisal batted well, scored an unbeaten 35 runs and took his team to a fine victory. Akram and Nadeem bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
In another match, Deccan Blues beat Youngsters by 49 runs. Deccan Blues batted first and scored 152 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. D’Souza scored a breezy half century which include 5 superb boundaries and two towering sixes. Shakil contributed 17 runs but Nazir batted with discipline and scored a fine unbeaten half century in which he hit 4 boundaries. Abid bowled well and took 3 wickets for 26 runs and Mohammad got 2 wickets for 28 runs.
In reply, Youngsters were all out for 103 runs. Mohsin 38 runs was top scorer as eight of their batsmen even can’t reach double figure against some accurate spin bowling supported by superb fielding of Deccan Blues. Shakil was the pick of the bowler who took 3 wickets for just 9 runs. Omer and Minhaj also bowled well and took two wickets each.
In another match, Khalifa Al Gosaibi beat Hyderabad Blues by 5 wickets. Hyderabad Blued batted first and scored 159 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Said batted well and scored 41 runs with the help of four beautiful boundaries. Taj scored breezy 31 and Javed and Ansar scored 23 runs each.
Khalifa Al Gosaibi reached the target in the 18th over. Thanks to Abbas who batted magnificently scored an unbeaten 59 runs which include four classical boundaries and three superb sixes, one of them was in reverse sweep and took his team to a wonderful victory. Captain Amin laid the winning foundation with a fine knock of 37 runs and Iqbal scored quick 31 runs with two hits to the fence and two mighty sixes. Suresh and Zaheer bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
In another match, Saudi Valve Manufacturing (SVM) beat Globe Marine Services by 7 wickets. Globe Marine batted first and scored 142 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Naveed Khan batted well and scored 47 runs. Ayub Khan and Mohsin scored 16 runs each. In reply, SVM reached the target in the 19th. Captain Mohammed Ayub scored unbeaten half century and took his team to a fine victory. Ashraf scored 56 runs with the help of five fours and two superb sixes.
