JEDDAH, 10 May — Luna Alesayi beat Daniel/Erik All-Star 55-47 in Sames-JBL basketball tournament in Bagdadiyah district near Balad. Both teams showed toughness up to the third quarter. Luna Alesayi applied gas in the fourth quarter while Daniel/Erik suffered exhaustion in the final 2 minutes of the game. Manlapaz topscored with 12 points for Luna Alesayi while Canete scored 15 points for Daniel/Erik All-Star.
In the next game, Amico Freshlook registered two straight win and beat Sames Pest Control 60-55. Amico Freshlook caught Sames Pest Control in their off night. Sames pest Control with star studded line up played over confidence up to the third quarter, Amico Freshlook even undermanned played well and wisely took the pressure given by Sames Pest Control. Abdul top score with 16 points for Amico Freshlook while Sunga scored 21 points for Sames Pest Control.
In Thursday’s games, Arabian Homes defeated Al Muawad Jewelry 78-72. Both teams played well and scores kept changing sides during the game. With only 2 minutes remaining in the final quarter, Arabian Homes coach Mel advise his boys to apply a man to man defense and made Al Muawad suffered consecutive turnovers. Balajadia and Nicha scored 18 points a piece for Arabian Homes while Deganos top score with 22 points for Al Muawad Jewelers. In the next game, Jologs escaped a near defeat at the hands of Panda Azizia 79-78. It was a seasaw battle between this two ball clubs in the whole game. With only 7 seconds remaining in the final quarter, Diaz the main man for Panda Azizia unleashed a desperation jumper for the winning shot but the ball bounce the rim and missed the shot. Rjlyn top score with 18 points for Jologs while Diaz scored 32 points for Panda Azizia.
