RIYADH, 10 May — Al Shdaif team, banked on the remaining seconds of time, scored a stylish 56-55 victory over the Dunkin Donut in the Filipino Basketball League held at the Eight Contracting Compound exit 12, here.
Aragon and Del Prado who scored 21 and 15 points respectively had been the key players of the Al Shdaif’s win.
Though four Dunkin players scored double figures and dominated the board it run short of time to catch up with the half shot advantage of Al Shdaif.
Coach Ariel Llorin relied on Aragon to execute the offense in the shaded area and Del Prado backed him in the perimeter.
The Donut makers have been consistent in their offense from the first quarter to the last minute of the fourth quarter.
Donut makers had the ball position twenty minutes remaining in regulation and half shot advantage of Al Shdaif when an unforced error occurred between Gosim and Solis that causeed the turnover and enabled Al Shdaif to manipulate the time to their advantage.
Meanwhile, in other actions of the day, N. Basilio scored 27 points and powered TIT electronics to win 83-73.over Dr Café .He was backed by Fernandez and17 points, Yalung with 14 points. Juhn Zahri and De Lima of Dr. Café scored 30 and15 points respectively but was no match in the tight defense and low post conversions imposed by coach Galivo of TIT Electronics.
Also, Faisal Cargo took TFC ABS-CBN with ease and lopsidedly win, 70-54. The undermanned TFC tackled the Cargo movers from the first quarter until the second quarter with consistency but the outset of third quarter proved too much for them to feel the pressure of no reliever. Manlapig is the best player of the game.
