JEDDAH, 30 July — Jeddah Trident Hotel hosted a Saudi food and cultural heritage event, coinciding with the ongoing Jeddah Summer Festival, recently. Children accompanying their parents who attended the four-day event had lots of fun. Mohammed A. Al-Sharif, assistant secretary general for commercial and industrial affairs at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, inaugurated the event in the presence of Sheikh Mahmoud Jamjoom, Cyprus Airways Country Representative Demetris Tzevelekis and hotel General Manager Chander Nain. One of the highlights of the event was a performance staged by a Saudi folk dance group t the accompaniment of violins, drums and traditional Saudi instruments. The group performed authentic sword dances and songs. "The Saudi food event highlighted the cultural richness of the kingdom’s heritage, and that’s why we timed it during the current annual Jeddah festival," Bamzee Abdullah, assistant sales manager of the hotel, said. A number of guests took part in a raffle draw and won prizes. (K.S.R)
