RIYADH, 1 October — Indian Airlines (IA), which has set up full-fledged reservation and support offices in different cities in the Kingdom including Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, continues to expand. Prince Naser F. Al-Faisal Al-Saudi and Indian Ambassador Talmiz Ahmad opened the Dammam office of the airline that operates 210 flights daily. Attending the inaugural ceremony were IA Regional Manager R.C. Kathuria, Nafa Company Vice President Abdul Aziz Mohini and IA Area Manager G. Dinakarn. Mohammed Quaiser, sales and marketing manager of Naba Tourism & Transport Ltd., said IA, which operated flights from Bahrain, Sahrjah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, carried more than 25,000 passengers to different destinations daily covering every corner of India and major business destinations in Asia and worldwide. IA has started operating flights from some Gulf countries and announced 40 percent discounted fares for passengers traveling from the Kingdom, according to Quaiser. Discounted fares are valid up to Oct. 31. He said it was due to the efforts of Prince Naser, chairman of the board and CEO of Nafa Enterprises, parent company of Naba tourism & Transport Ltd., that IA had been introduced in the Kingdom. IA also launched a special package called “Discover India fare” that allowed a passenger to pay only $500 for a 15-day unlimited travel and $750 for a 21-day unlimited travel. This is in addition to ‘India wonder fare’ aside from another incentive-based package called ‘Common interest group fares.’ (M.G.A.K)
