JEDDAH, 1 November — In the 14th Kanoo League Division-II, sponsored by Yousuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group of Companies-Western Province and organized by Jeddah Cricket League (JCL) four matches were played in the second week at JCL sports complex.
Saudi General Insurance (SGI) won against new entrants BRC by 7 wickets. BRC innings folded in 17.3 overs for a meager 128 runs. Right-arm attacking bowler Rehmat Ali accomplished the first hat trick of the tournament by dismissing three batsmen Nazir-01, Abu Hisham-0 and Imtiaz-0 on three successive accurate swinging deliveries.
He took 3 for 22 and Mujeeb 2 for 26 completed the rout. Only Zohras-48, Rafi-22, Salih-10 and Mohajir-19 not out showing some fight.
SGI in reply achieved the winning target in 15 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Prolific scorer Qamer Ijaz plundered-76 off 37 balls with 7 fours and one huge six. Azeem-19 and Abul-Rab scored 23 runs. Mohajir took 2 for 38. Al-Hamrani Fuchs Petroleum faced defeat by 7 wickets against Saudia Majestique. Hamid-10, M. Shoib-17, Zubair Malik-17, Zubair Nazir-10, Ehsan Ali-23, Omar-30 and extras-32 were the main contributors of Fuchs total 152 for 8 in allotted 20 overs. Khalil Qazi 3 for 15, Rafiq-2 for 28, Hussain 2 for 20 and Shahid 1 for 24 were the successful bowlers.
In reply, Saudia Majestique reached the target with 4.5 overs to spare for the loss of 3 wickets. Zahid Hussain-30 (6 x 4) and Naeem-52 (7 x 4) were in fine form and provided 64 runs for the opening wicket partnership. Yousuf and Aiyman were remained unbeaten for 34 and 21 respectively. Zubair, Ehsan and Nazir Chougtai took one wicket each for 22, 29 and 16 runs respectively. Hero Rangers defeated Saudia City by 31 runs.
The winner batted first and compiled 173 for 8 in 18 overs. Jay-36, Noor-53, Naseer-26 and Saif-20 not out were the notable contributors. Tariq, Nasim Khan and skipper Junaid Arif Siddiqui claimed 2 wickets each for 24, 39 and 28 runs respectively.
In reply, Saudia City all out for 142 Ghulam Qasim-29, Nasim Khan-24, Aslam-21, Junaid Arif-28 and Saki-19 tried their best to achieve the target. In a low-scoring match of the day Al-Rabie Foods surged to an 8 wickets victory over Al-Salaheen Education & Welfare Trust. Salaheen who were bundled out for 94 in 17 overs due to some deadly bowling by Rohan Silva (3 for 21), Hamdi Usmani (3 for 21) and Suranga (2 for 19). Only Abdul Razzaq got double figure 27 with the help of 5 boundaries. In reply Al-Rabie reached the target in 10 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Opener Manzoor Karim uddin-3 out soon bowled by Imran Nasir but Rohan Silva played a magnificent knock of 62 off 25 balls, which was decorated by 11 fours.
Nafraz made 18 not out.
