RIYADH, 1 November — Saleh Al Mutlaq and Mohammed Eid Al Dashishi have both passed an International Football License Course at the English Football Association’s center of excellence in Lilleshall.
They took the course in August. The places on the course were obtained by BAE Systems as part of the Memorandum of Understanding that exists between Saudi Arabia and the UK.
The Saudi Football Federation specially selected the two coaches for this extra training. Both men are well-placed to benefit from the worldwide recognized coaching qualification since, they are former professional players who are still eager to have a significant impact on the game.
Saleh, a fomer player of Al Nasr club, has already taken various football coaching courses from Asian Football Confederation, before being started his coaching career with the club.
Al Dashishi was a player with the Al Matter club in the Eastern Region before he embarked on a coaching career.
The General Presidency of Youth Welfare have been able to invite these coaches to attend this course thanks to the Sporting Memorandum of Understanding that exists between Saudi Arabia and Britain.
Peter Waddell, who directs the sports program for BAE Systems on behalf of the GPYW and the British government said: “I am delighted that these coaches have passed the course. Coaching is the most important aspect in the continued development of any sport, as they pass their knowledge onto many players, as this helps the whole game to develop.”
The trip was coordinated by BAE Systems as part of the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed by the Saudi and British governments in 1987. The memorandum, was designed to help promote cooperation in the fields of sport and youth welfare, and also to allow Saudi and British cultures to understand more about each other.

Abdulrhaman Al Odaib, vice president of the Sports Leaders’ Institute along with two former Saudi international players, Sahel Al Mutlaq and Mohaisen Al Jama’an presented the Al Quds team from Tabuk with the winning trophy in the BAE Systems staff football tournament.
The six-a-side event took place last week in Riyadh and was for members of BAE Systems Saudi National workforce, with the aim of encouraging employees to socialize outside work and to improve staff relations.
Sixteen teams and 144 players took part in the event. Teams from BAE Systems based all over the Kingdom took part in the event that was held at the Sports Leaders’ Institute.
The competitions’ main sponsor was Xerox part of Olayan Group. Power House and the Jaraisi Company also backed the event. Medical coverage for the day was provided by the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Sports Medicine Hospital.
The company in the future intends to have the competition as an annual event and hope to have a team to compete against fellow Saudi companies.
