RIYADH, 15 November 2002 — Al-Ittihad’s Brazilian imports were on target against Al-Riyadh enabling the Jeddah club to clinch maximum points in the King Fahd Cup Soccer tournament here yesterday.

Their 2-1 victory lifted them to 12 points in the tournament. In other encounters, Al-Qadisiyah defeated Al-Ittefaq 2-1 in Dammam, and Al-Taie got the better of Al-Najmah by an identical 2-1 margin in Hail.

Sergio gave Ittihad the lead with a clinical strike in the 17th minute and Ittihad held on to this lead till the interval. Bebeto then got into the act with a 64th minute goal and this strike in the end proved crucial. For Riyadh pulled one back within minutes of Bebeto’s goal with Omar Tarawary hitting true. But Ittihad closed ranks to win the day.
