JEDDAH, 17 December 2002 — Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, UAE, Oman and Qatar, has introduced “Shukran,” a travel coordinator’s scheme, which recognizes and rewards the work of secretaries or personal assistants of gold and silver level members of its Falcon frequent flyer program. “As a demonstration of our commitment to going the extra mile for our Falcon Members, we off the new scheme as an exclusive benefit for gold and silver level members. In addition to being able to nominate their family members in the Falcon program, gold and silver level members can now nominate their secretaries or personal assistants who will be awarded free Falcon miles every time the member travels on qualifying flights with Gulf Air and Oman Air,” said John Butler, the airline’s vice president for marketing and sales. “This new addition to the benefits currently offered by the Falcon loyalty program allows our top tier members to say a ‘thank you’ to the all important person who takes care of all his or her travel arrangements. The travel coordinators will be automatically enrolled in the Falcon program and will begin to enjoy all the benefits that this membership brings, in addition to earning generous Shukran bonus miles,” Meher Parakh, the airline’s manager for loyalty programs.
