RIYADH, 27 December 2002 — SCC, Warrior, Pak Friend, Young Friend, Binladin, Sulaiman XI, PBC, LCC recorded victories over their respective rivals in inaugural matches of Tariq Yousuf Memorial Softball cricket tourney at Malaz grounds, Riyadh. In the match against Al-Mashrik, SCC recorded 10 wickets victory. Batting first Al-Mashrik scored 83 all out. In reply SCC scored the required runs with out losing any wicket. In another match Binladin chasing 83 runs for victory scored the required runs losing 4 wickets against Orissa. Earlier Orissa were all out for 83 runs.
Elsewhere Pak Friends beat New Star by 8 wickets. Batting first New Star were all out for 134 runs. Chasing the target Pak Friend’s raced to victory losing 2 wickets. In a match against MEED PBC won by 51 runs. Chasing the target of 181 runs MEED were bundled out for 131 runs. Earlier PBC scored 181 runs losing 5 wickets. In another match LCC beat Falouda by 49 runs. Batting first LCC scored mammoth 273 for 4 wickets in there allotted over. Chasing a formidable score Falouda were restricted to 225 for 7 in their stipulated over. Elsewhere, Abid’s brilliant 128 helped Young Friend notched facile 73 runs victory over SACO CC. Batting first Young Friend scored 255 for 6. SACO CC in reply scored 182 for 9 in there allotted over.
