RIYADH, 3 January 2003 — Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr drew 1-1 in a thrilling Riyadh derby in the King Fahd Cup soccer tournament at the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium yesterday.

Hilal took the lead early in the first half when Hussein Ali converted a penalty kick. But Congo import Rock canceled out the advantage with a 32nd minute strike in a match which was largely restricted to the midfield. Both the teams did however effect some incisive raids, but they failed to turn their territorial advantage into goals.

Al-Raid defeated Al-Riyadh 3-1 at the Prince Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Buraidah in another match yesterday.

Ahmad Ghanim scored in the fifth minute, Tareq Al-Sharef in the 37th minute and Mutlaq Al-Ghrabi in the 80th minute for Raid. The lone goal for Riyadh was scored by Al-Sheikh in the 50th minute.

In another match, played at the Prince Abdul Aziz Sports Stadium in Hail, Al-Taie defeated Al-Ittifaq 3-2. Seilso scored two goals and Amatagi one for Taie while both the Ittifaq goals were scored by newcomer Christian Loray.
