RIYADH, 5 January 2003 — A meeting of senior officials from the statistics departments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states began here yesterday. GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Mohammed ibn Obaid Al-Mazrouee said the meeting will discuss, among other things, a plan to prepare an integrated directory of economic activities in the GCC states, the application of a national accounting system and activating statistical data exchange among member states.
