RIYADH, 6 January 2003 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd yesterday issued a decree appointing Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed as the nazir (supervisor) of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment for the Ayn Al-Aziziah in Jeddah. The king directed Prince Abdul Majeed to constitute a council for the supervision of the endowment, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Council of Ministers decided to form a supervisory council for the endowment last year. Meanwhile, King Fahd has approved a donation of 500,000 copies of the Holy Qur’an to Afghanistan. SPA said the Farsi translations of the Qur’an were intended for “mosques, schools and universities in Afghanistan.”
