JEDDAH, 6 January 2003 — Saudi Arabian Vegetable Oil Company (Savola) has reached an agreement with investors to set up factories in Morocco and Sudan. The two factories, with a capacity to produce 70,000 tons of vegetable oil annually, will be built at an estimated cost of SR40 million. At the end of last year, Savola signed an agreement to establish a joint venture company with a capital of SR20 million to produce and market 45,000 tons of vegetable oil in Morocco. The factory will go on stream by July 2004. Savola will set up a similar factory in Sudan by the middle of next year. (SPA)
