JEDDAH, 8 January 2003 — Muslims all over the world will now be able to own apartments in the King Abdul Aziz Endowment project in Makkah on a long-term leasing program. The company responsible for marketing the apartments being constructed near the Grand Mosque said all Muslims are free to invest in the project for a renewable two-year period. Many investors, especially from Malaysia and Brunei, are showing interest. More than 25 percent of the residential units in the Alsafa and Marwah towers were sold in the last two weeks. The company will market 1,500 apartments units in the two 27-story towers at real estate shows in Malaysia and Dubai, the company said.
