JEDDAH, 11 January 2003— Eminent scholar Muhammad Muslehuddin Saadi, 72, died of a massive heart attack on Thursday in Hyderabad. Saadi, an expert on poet Allama Iqbal, died in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and three sons. Saadi, during his stay in the Kingdom, promoted Iqbal’s philosophy in Urdu literary meetings. Saadi, a poet in Urdu and Persian languages, authored some books on Iqbal. He was the editor of the monthly ‘Iqbal Review’. A condolence meeting will be held here soon, according to a leading Jeddah literary circle member Naeem Javed. (M.M. Syed)
