JEDDAH, 17 January 2003 — Sixty exhibitors from eight countries are showcasing their products at a 10-day Jeddah Spring International Trade Fair that opened here on Wednesday evening.

The countries taking part include Syria, Iran, Singapore and India.

“This is the second year in a row we’re organizing the fair, and the response from overseas participants has been good,” Adel A. Shakoor, chief executive officer of Saudi Exhibition Company, said at the opening.

A number of families visited the show being held at the Alhmara International Exhibition & Conference Center along the Corniche.

Exhibits include art works, handmade glassware and other handicrafts; silver and turquoise ornaments; travel and tour packages; shawls, household articles; handmade carpets, washing machines and air coolers; children’s dresses; and furniture and furnishings. — K.S. Ramkumar
