MAKKAH, 19 January 2003 — As many as 1,600 scouts will take part in this year’s Haj operation, according to Education Minister Dr. Mohammed Al-Rasheed, who is the chairman of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Society. He appointed Alaiwi Al-Qurashi, director of education in Makkah, as general supervisor of scout camps and Mohammed Al-Tuwayan as general commander of the camps. The society will have two camps in Mina, and one each in Makkah and Arafat.
