JEDDAH, 24 January 2003 — Saleem Nisar (general manager) PIA Saudi Arabia & Yemen has agreed to sponsor an exhibiton cricket match between JCL Executive Committee and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees which is to be played on Thursday Jan. 30 at the Jeddah Cricket league Complex.

JCL endeavors to bring communities together and plays social matches on Thursday afternoon, while league matches are organized in three divisions on Fridays. School tournaments are conducted on Thursdays within different age group of 22 schools.

JCL boost to be the largest and oldest organization which has pioneered cricket in Saudi Arabia since 1976.

Shahid Amin, an engineer by profession, started Jeddah Cricket League in 1976 with two teams, but as a cricketer by born and a sports enthusiast, Shahid Amin took personal interest and due to his untiring efforts, today JCL stands with 53 teams playing in three divisions. Sixteen schools teams including Saudi schools are also playing under JCL banner.

Shahid Amin also founded the CCCB (Central Cricket Control Board) in December 2000.

JCL awarded Shahid Amin for his services to the sports specially cricket. Shahid Amin is the president of JCL since 1976. Under his leadership JCL organized big tournaments all over the Kingdom.
