RIYADH, 27 January 2003 — The Muslim World League yesterday strongly condemned Israel for carrying out acts of genocide against Palestinian civilians and urged the international community to intervene. Israeli troops on Saturday launched the biggest attack on Gaza City since the Palestinian Authority was created in 1994, killing at least 12 and wounding 64, six of them in critical condition. “The League condemns acts of brutal terrorism being carried out by Israel through a policy of genocide against civilians, which contravenes UN resolutions and basic principles of human rights,” a statement said.
