JEDDAH, 2 February 2003 — The Ministry of Information has mobilized all its potential and manpower to provide wide media coverage to this year's Haj.

Prince Turki ibn Sultan, Assistant Information Minister, said invitations have been sent to media organizations in the Arab and Islamic states and other friendly countries.

Several Arab and foreign satellite TV channels and international news agencies have also been invited.

All necessary arrangements for receiving the media delegations and providing them with all necessary facilities have been completed.

Working teams have been formed and information centers set up in Makkah, Madinah and other holy sites.

Prince Turki said the Saudi Radio will broadcast a number of special programs in various languages, including English, French,Urdu, Indonesian, Turkish, Persian, Swahili, Bengali, Somali and Turkistani. Arrangements are also in place for the live telecast and radio transmission of the Haj rituals.

Prince Turki said 300 outlets have been set up for distributing publications, religious, cultural and awareness books and newspaper supplements. (SPA)
