MAKKAH, 12 February 2003 — A Sudanese man was killed and two Sudanese and four Pakistanis were injured in a car crash in Makkah, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday.

The Sudanese man, who had been hired by a group of Pakistanis to deliver food for Hajis, was returning from Muzdalifa at high speed and jumped several red lights, according to witnesses.

Driving through a red light at King Fahd St., he collided with an oncoming truck, also being driven by a Sudanese.

The car driver died of his injuries in hospital. The truck driver is in a serious condition with brain injuries.

The Pakistani passengers suffered broken bones and other minor injuries.
